Christmas 2006 – a supper for the poor
The aim was to provide a good meal for Christmas for the poorest families leaving in the Kehemu settlement of Rundu. 220 families were identified and each of them was provided with basic food rations which allowed them to have a good meal at least in the special period of the Christmas season. In particular the following was provided:
10 kg of Millie meal
1 bottle of oil
2 kg of meal
salt, sugar and sauce
There is no need to emphasis that many of these families had to go without a meal on many days and such initiative was very welcomed by them that had a taste of the meaning of sharing happiness. This activity has been transformed in an annual one and has been repeated for Christmas 2007. Currently funds have been allocated for Christmas 2008.
